Dear Grandma

What else were you to do

I know you were worried about mommy

And so was everyone else too

Only at that time no one knew

The pain you all would later go through

I know your life has been filled with regret

For the grandchild

You’d long to know

But never met

I was smiling that day

When out by the lake

You prayed to our Father

Your sins from that choice to take

All the regret and the shame

And as He cleansed you

He told you my name

It was right there and right then

That you and I knew

In our hearts one day

We’d be reunited again
